Hey where’s the link to how to make it? I remember being at the foothills of the Himalaya’s at the Himalayan Hotel and asked the owner (it was a very quaint place) if I could go into the kitchen and see how they made their delicious delicacies. I love going into people’s kitchens. They showed me the Tandoor and the not-so-elaborate method of taking simple dough and placing it on a padded-towel to form the shape and slapped the dough onto the side of the tandoor oven – it was great to watch, so I never thought I could make it without a tandoor.
I have made chipati bread, when I could find the chipati flour and had a gas stove, it’s a little hard to make without the gas top so I too would go to an Indian restaurant when I’m hungry for Indian food. I think the best is of course in the homes of the friends we made in India!
